I believe Biloxi in southern US has the most similar climate to Sydney than any other places in the US - at least "genetically" (because the west coast is pretty Med/Semi arid). And I thought Penrith will be its fitting opponent here.

An edge to Biloxi, warmer means all-around (more so in summer), more storms and variability in the right seasons (variable winters, reliably warm/hot summers)

Biloxi has a more reliable summer heat, so I vote for it.
Also for the warmer May-Oct (Nov-Apr) period.

Penrith for the drier summers. Biloxi gets way too much warm rain.

Biloxi. Although I do not like the winter record lows at all, it still wins because of the warmer temperatures, higher dew points, and lusher vegetation.

Both OK climates, but neither are great. Gonna pick Biloxi for the warmer, wetter summers but winters there are rather dull. Somewhere just inland of the MS Gulf Coast would be preferable.

Biloxi. Although I do not like the winter record lows at all, it still wins because of the warmer temperatures, higher dew points, and lusher vegetation. Don't these areas in Mississippi have trees that lose their leaves in winter? Australia's vegetation is predominantly evergreen. And the temperate regions of Australia have green vegetation all year round (of course, in drier periods the landscape can look ''browner'')

Penrith. Precipitation is better in Biloxi, but year round temperatures give the Australian town the edge.

Penrith for not experiencing hurricanes.
