Interesting battle, it's tough to choose.
I presume that Woods Point is sunnier based on those diurnals, but it has shitty lows (especially in the summer) and too much winter rain for those temps. Brest with those anemic summers ain't no saint either, but I'll go for Brest because if it's going to be rainy in the winter it's better to be a bit warmer. Brest also has better lows in general.

Brest for being a little warmer and drier throughout the entire year (and having a lower summer diurnal range). However, I guess that Woods Point has more sun hours- 2200 to 2300 annually?

Hard one, Woods Point's lows are so cold (below freezing record in all months) that I think I'll have to go with Brest for this one

Brest also has better lows in general. 87 clear days annually (far more than Melb's feeble 48 days), similar to the southern coast of NSW. My estimate would be 2400-2500 hrs?
