Perth January summary (Mid Summer)
Max monthly temp: 41.9C Min monthly temp: 15.9C
Mean Max temp: 32.1C (+0.8C) Mean Min temp: 18.8C(+0.4C)
Rainfall mm: 1.8mm (-11.6mm) Rainy days >1mm: 1 (0)
Sunshine hours: 383.1 hours (+26.6 hours) Relative afternoon humidity: 42% (+3%)
Overall a bit warmer than average month for Perth and a bit sunnier aswell. Little to no rainfall either which is typical of summer months. The mean temperature was really carried higher by the few brutally hot days we had. Apart from that it was mostly a typical summer month in Perth. Sunny and hot

SummaryAverage max: 26.4c (-0.7c)* Average mean: 20.6c (+0.1c)* Average min: 14.8c (+0.8c)* *Data for the 13th and 14th were gathered from Viewbank instead, so the averages would reflect that Max high: 34.5c (12th) Max low: 21.3c (7th) Min high: 20.4c (8th) Min low: 9.4c (27th) Precipitation: 118.6 mm (216.8% of mean) Precipitation days >=0.2 mm: 12 Precipitation days >= 1 mm: 8 Sunshine: 232.8 hours There's been a lot of talk on how crummery this month (and the past few months) has been in this part of the world, but not gonna lie I kinda liked it. It was remarkably stable for our standards, with no days going above 35c or under 20c. There were lots of pleasant mild/warm days without extreme heat or strong cold fronts. In addition, we had a few good storms and rain events, which made for some weather interest. In fact, the 50.8 mm that we got on the 8th was our wettest January day since 1970, when 53.6 mm was recorded. The last week was fairly dry and sunny, in contrast to the rest of the month.

m 3.1F cooler than normal and 2.14" wetter than normal. Coolest January since 2018. The first two weeks were fairly typical. Then a strong cold snap mid-month with some wintry precip (mostly sleet & freezing rain) and coldest low since Feb 2021. Warmed up the fourth week of the month with quite a bit of rainfall. Days with freezing min temps: 13 Days with freezing max temps: 2 Days with thunder: 5 Data for my PWS (rainfall data is inaccurate because gauge was clogged up during heavy rain late in the month). I had 9.42" in my manual CoCoRaHS gauge.

Average January conditions (1991-2020)
Average high: 26.0°C | Daily mean: 20.3°C | Average low: 14.6°C
Average precipitation: 43.1mm | Average precipitation days (>0.2mm): 7.9 | Average relative humidity: 50%
An unusually stable month. No really hot or cool days or bipolar temperature swings. The daily mean was nearly right on average, a result of cooler than average highs and warmer than average lows. Rainfall was above average. Can't really give a proper opinion on last month as I was away from home for a while.

January was actually a pretty good month here, lots of heat, humidity, a rediculous storm that tore one of my trees down that I now need to chop up, and damaged many of my tomatoes and chillis, max Dewpoint 25.9C
17 days over 35C, and 4 days over 40C on my PWS, only 7 days under 30C, and 1 under 25C.
Got no idea what I am bitching about, this was a solid January.

January here started wet, the second & third weeks we had a cold snap with the coldest temperature recorded in this location for a few years & also a dusting of snow on one day. Most of the cold days were dry & sunny so sunshine came in above average. The last week saw milder temperatures & a little rain. January 2024:
A winter month that ended up being around average, and that is a good thing after having many blowtorch winter months during these past few years. We've had only one snowfall this month, with 12.5 cm/5 in of snow - not really impressive, but that's more than we got in all of 2023, and we rarely get over 10 cm of snow these years. It also had a record low of -11.5C, a temp that we haven't had since 2018, and it was refreshing to see some proper winter temps. It was also sunnier than average. However, the sunshine wasn't distributed equally - 38 hrs till the 19th, and the last 12 days brought clearer weather that bumped up the sun figures. All in all a good month in my eyes, considering that our winters are on a strong warming trend. Also, it's interesting to see how your geographic position influences the climate. Split is 260 km south of Zagreb, and one look at the climate tables reveals how significant the effects of the Mediterranean Sea are.
Zagreb monthly anomalies :
High: +2.5C/+4.5F Mean: +0.7C/+1.3F
Low: -0.1C/-0.2F
Precipitation: +18.9 mm/+0.74 in
Sunshine: +50 h
Split monthly anomalies:
High: +1.6C/+2.9F Mean: +1.6C/+2.9F
Low: +1.4C/+2.5F Precipitation: -9 mm/ -0.35 in Sunshine: +21 h
