A very mild Mediterranean climate pitted against a desert with short frigid winters and long scorching summers

Turpan for having seasons ie. hot summers and cold winters. Although I'd prefer the precipitation that Point Reyes gets.

Point Reyes, Turpan is boring as fuck despite being so continental and has shitty temps

Point Reyes for the year-round mildness. Turpan's long warm season is great but those dry cold winters look hellish.

Turpan.
Both climates are terrible. Point Reyes is mildly uncomfortable all year, while Turpan is very uncomfortable for many months but also has months that are actually comfortable. Turpan's climate is also excellent for growing grapes apparently.

Turpan I guess: on average warmer and more variable

Turpan
Yes it's arid as hell and has a cold winter, but Point Reyes's insistence on the same copy-pasted 50s and marine layer year-round would make me want to kill myself in short order.

Point Reyes. Both are terrible but I don't like desert climates.

Point Reyes for the milder temps and winter rain

Easy choice for me, Point Reyes is pleasant for the most part despite being very boring. Turpan looks horribly uncomfortable most of the year plus it doesnโt even get snow
