Click your fingers and the world's prevailing wind direction changes. This means Europe will be more like northeast Asia, Middle East like east Asia, NYC will be like Vancouver. Sydney like Penrith. You get the gist. Would you do it?
I'd do it in a heartbeat (Sorry Europeans).

I wonder how different the world would be if Europe had Siberian-like winters and East Asia had oceanic climates.

I don't think my climate will change that much Melbourne will likely become mediterranean with a reversal in wind direction.

Here's what the Earth would be like if the wind direction was changed from east to west Lol, Arid East Asia, Mediterranean Korea, Subtropical Middle East, Subarctic Britain. I wonder how much of human history would be different if the Earth was like this.

100% I would do this

Probably yes. I also hope the Rocky mountains would make the climate a bit milder than North Carolina.

No. It wouldn't change my climate much and it would kill millions or maybe billions of people from famine in the coming years.
According to that map I will be in a border of Dsa/Bsk. Seems like way too much desert in the US, especially the area around the Great Lakes. I guess they might not form in a desert climate, and then they wouldn't influence the rainfall of the area much either.
That map also makes eastern China and much of Southeast Asia into a desert which would be terrible for the current population.
France looks good to me.

I'd do that in an instant. Mediterranean subtropical eastern US, sign me up. If I could make the winds reverse course I would have done it years ago. The climate here would be like Kenitra in Morocco, presumably a bit warmer and wetter though from Gulf of Mexico influence.

That's a very good climate, but unfortunately, I think that your climate will be much warmer and drier, as you are in the sahara desert

That's a very good climate, but unfortunately, I think that your climate will be much warmer and drier, as you are in the sahara desert I'm not sure about that. I'm at 34ºN and there is only a gently sloping plain between me and the Atlantic coast. What is stopping moist easterlies from dropping plentiful rainfall enhanced by orographic lift, as I'm at 1,000ft asl in the Appalachian foothills. The only places in the Sahara at 34ºN are dry just because of the Atlas Mountains blocking moisture.

Fez in Morocco is still much closer to the sea and at a higher altitude on the windward side and already has 35c summer highs.

Fez still gets 19" of rain annually, it is hardly the Sahara. Perhaps somewhere coastal like Charleston would be like Kenitra then.

It looks like the west and east coasts of the USA switched climates. The east coast would be Mediterranean like the west coast, while the west coast would have continental climates transitioning to humid subtropical southward, just like the east coast irl.

Using clima-sim and putting the map on backwards you can get some idea of what the climates would be like. This is what SE England would be like. Same summers, freezing winters.
