Seattle is a Mediterranean climate and this is only becoming more true with climate change it seems.
Summer 2023 - Ninth-driest summer on record Summer 2022 - Driest summer on record Summer 2021 - 51-day long dry spell From the start of May to August 2018, Seattle only received an inch of rain Summer 2017 - 55-day long dry spell
Now, summer temperature doesn't have much to do with a climate's status as Mediterranean unless it's a subarctic climate or something. But, for those of you who think our summers aren't hot enough for the Mediterranean classification, think again.
The number of days over 80F and 90F have gone up significantly since preindustrial times.
2015 had the most 80F+ days in Seattle history
2022 takes the cake for the most 90F+ days, followed by 2015 and 2018. 2021 and 2017 are both tied for 5th place.
Summer in Seattle features an increasing number of days above 80, and dry ground that's hard to dig. And when you kick the dirt, dust flies up in the air.

Temps are pretty similar to oceanic climates like Nantes, so it doesn't have hot summers like Rome or Seville. However, it does have dry summers and wet winters, and that's the Med pattern.
Therefore, Seattle has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate (Csb).

If Seattle was a kid, his father is a descendant of Oceanic, and mother is a descendant of Mediterranean.

It can be both? One describes a precipitation pattern and one describes temperature.
