greysrigging โs observations of storms and downpours every single days are making me really jealous. Unfortunately Darwin has terrible temps, but if you make it 15 f cooler, you get a very good climate. Tons of exceptional outdoor weather and an awesome wet season where every day is interesting. Not sure if Iโd get tired of the lack of temperature seasonality or not so this gets a B.

D-
December-March are horrific and it doesnโt have snow or seasons. Temps are pleasant though. Orders of magnitude better than actual Darwin.

C-
A significantly downgraded Darwin, much more boring temps in my books

I'd prefer -5F Darwin to this tbh

If the Top End had +1500 m mountains, we would have seen climates like this.

F
Gets rid of what makes Darwin great by replacing its warmth with useless mild rain.

Solid C
Too rainy but fairly comfortable. Looks like a highland climate in tropical South America or something

C-. Much more comfortable than actual Darwin, but it's quite boring and mild.

Voted C to break the tie but I was leaning in between B and C. The consistency of the average and record high temperatures year-round really works in this climate's favor. Lowering all the temperature averages by 15 F means the wet-season dew points are fairly comfortable.

Vastly inferior to regular Darwin. C+, comfortable year-round, but rain is a bit too monsoonal and true heat is unheard of.

FGets rid of what makes Darwin great by replacing its warmth with useless mild rain. How would it be useless mild rain if it gets 80 thunderstorms a year?

Who said thunderstorms and useless mild rain were mutually exclusive? No oneโฆMy point is that you like thunderstorms so itโs weird youโd complain about mild rain when most of that is thunderstorms. Unless you only like thunderstorms when theyโre on a 90 f day.

Unless you only like thunderstorms when theyโre on a 90 f day. Considering outflow from thunderstorms almost always causes the temperature to drop to some 66 F as soon as they arrive around here in the summer, and that's precisely the temperature most of the rain would fall at in this cooler Darwin, it's not nearly as interesting as if said storms were to occur at, say, 40 F or indeed 90 F. It's still a nearly useless climate from the standards of what I want in general though. The wet season isn't warm enough to feel like a properly warm summer period and it's never been hot on record (look at those room temperature record highs in February and March ), and the winter dry season, while generally comfortable, is precisely the kind of "socially acceptable nice" weather that holds no interest whatsoever.

B-, boring having no temp variation but comfortable temps. Hopefully most of the rain would fall with temps in the 60s, not warmer, so thatโs a plus, as is the long warm dry season. Looks like somewhere at moderately high elevation in Peru or Colombia/Ecuador. Steelernation you say that youโre jealous of Darwinโs storms and downpours, but I thought you hated downpours. Youโve said you like drizzle too.

C-, comfortable but boring and the rain is too seasonal.
