Same as before. Dry, variable, moderately cold and snowy winters; somewhat stormy, variable springs; hot, dry summers and warm, dry, quick falls.

My Dream Climate.

No change from previous, I think I've settled on this one consistently now.Direct copy-paste of my explanation on the City-Data post of this with minor edits: Somewhat unrealistic, prone to uncommon but very extreme variations. Located in a wet microclimate in a valley in a mountainous area at high elevation, on a westward-facing slope approximately 305m above the surface of a long, narrow east-west oriented lake. (for lake-effect precipitation) Average ranges are small, but extreme variation is possible on occasion. Summers are cool and cloudy, and typically feature a lot of fog and drizzle, especially in the morning. However, during the types of extreme heatwaves that set the record highs, humidity never rises above 30%, as the hot air comes from desert. Same with the winter record lows: cold air comes from very high, cold plateau and settles into the valley. Winter is typically the sunniest time of year, with many bright, clear and cold days. Snow typically remains on the ground for long periods of time. Snow will often start in the evening, continue through the night, and end as flurries on the morning of the following day that continue to around noon.

My Dream Climate nation "New Florida" has several cities with variants of my ideal climate, humid subtropical. Seeing as I should just pick one, the following looks like a nice one. Proper summers. Mild winters which can still get cold at night.

I haven't made an ideal climate but I'm leaning more towards a much warmer climate these days.
If I'm going to live somewhere with four months of more or less decent weather (mid May to mid Sept here), four months that are a write-off (early Nov to early March) and four months that are in between anyway I wonder if I'd prefer to get the decent weather in winter and put up with a really hot summer instead?

Well tbh I'm probably just saying this because it's been cold the past few days and I haven't felt the sun on my back since about September, but take Brisbane as an example. I used to work with somebody from there and remember telling him I wouldn't want to live in a hot and humid climate like that and he said after a few years of getting used to it I wouldn't want to come back, so here goes: Summer doesn't look all that bad in the table but if you add on humidity, sun angle etc you can say mid Nov to mid March you can forget about doing much strenuous activity outside and you'd want to avoid the midday sun, four months in the winter look like ideal English summer, then the other four months are in between, maybe a bit sticky in the afternoon but otherwise pleasantly warm. If Brisbane had high mountains near it to get my snow/cold fix in the winter then it would have everything. Hmmm...I ought to go somewhere that gets hot weather just to test what my heat tolerance actually is lol, I think I've only seen 30C once in the past five years

Ushgabal is a hot summer, cool winter climate with lots of sun and a decent amount of rain in winter. I am thinking of modifying it slightly in the next few weeks but at the moment this is what my dream climate looks like. Attachments:

Here's mine, been a while since I last posted it so newer members might not be familiar with its awesomeness. Try not to cry tears of joy upon discuvering these beautiful statistics. And a more readable version with only the basics. #JustDoIt Is it starting to move away from Graz in other words? Hmmm...I ought to go somewhere that gets hot weather just to test what my heat tolerance actually is lol, I think I've only seen 30C once in the past five years Weren't you living in Hampstead a few years ago? Or was it already more than 5 years ago?! Time flies!

I didn't actually live in Hampstead (Hampstead = £££££££!) but it was my nearest weather station. And yes, it's five years ago this May that I moved back up north, seems like a whole different lifetime now

That's not what I personally would call a cool winter Anyway, here's my dream climate. It's pretty much Esquel but slightly more continental (larger annual temperature range, i.e., warmer summers and colder winters) and with a little more precipitation. Those two changes make it cloudier and snowier. Heat lovers will obviously hate it, but an average high or 23-24°C in the summer is plenty of warmth to me, and definitely better than what we usually get here.

Increased diurnals, increased record highs and slightly more rainfall and sunshine now.
