My (YITYNR's) actual dream climate, last revised July 2020:
At a latitude of 26'N, it has a tropical climate, with a strong temperate influence.
Winter is the coolest and wettest time of year in Utopia City, though with an all-time record low of 50 (10) it hasn't really gotten cold per se, ever. Rainfall and humidity are at their highest in winter, with an average of about 110 mm (4.3 in) of rain per month from December through March, but most days are still partly sunny with no rain and low humidity. Days are mild to warm, with the average high in January coming in at 79 (26) and warming up quickly as one gets toward the end of the season, though mornings are reliably crisp with average lows around 15 (59) in all three winter months.
Spring is a period of gradual warming, drying, and clearing out: the January sunshine average isn't half bad at 210 hours, while May outdoes that solidly with 300 hours. Some of the nicest days of the year are nice April Saturdays when it starts off chilly around 59 (15) but then warms up to close to 90 (32), mostly sunny with plenty of wind and dew points below 50 (10).
Summer is the time of year the city is really known for, and it's a full-blown tropical paradise affair, with an average high of 90 (32) or higher from the end of May through the end of September. Nights are still slightly cool with average lows of around 70 (21), and rainfall and humidity are both at their lowest levels in the summer as the vast majority of days are sunny, breezy, and very dry - through the few storms that do come can pack a punch. The warmest day of the year typically ends up at a scorching 110 (43) or so - but don't think there are solid weeks of triple-digit temperatures. Similar to Australia's intense heat records, this comes from a wind shift bringing in lots of desert air from the south, while the next day temperatures are back down to normal. Beaches are packed, music is cranked up into the night, and it's always warm in a Utopia City summer.
Autumn is many residents' favorite time of year, as air temperatures gradually cool off but ocean temperatures are still quite warm. Heat waves decrease in frequency and intensity as average highs are down to 83 (28) by May, and while most days are still perfectly clear and sunny, the frequency of rain does increase substantially, especially toward the end of the season. There are a few deciduous trees that turn all sorts of pretty colours in late November and December, but they are rarely bare for long at all and will be in full bloom by the beginning of January again. Most vegetation is tropical anyway; there are tons of palm trees everywhere, and lots of people grow coconuts in their yards.
