Your dream climates

Yeah I haven’t found anywhere close, places with similar averages in Europe don’t measure snow but I doubt they get more than 15-20” a year. In the US, you get similar averages in the PNW but with barely any snow (like <5”), same with China. Or you get the snow but also massive amounts of cold rain. Some places in Arizona, Utah, SW Colorado and the Sierras get the highs/precipitation/snow but have much colder lows and are pretty sunny.

Should theoretically be possible though, typically mild and dry with most of the precipitation coming as snowy cold fronts. That’s what happens in Colorado so I don’t know why it wouldn’t be possible in a place with different averages

Yeah for precipitation/snowfall wise and average highs it is. Problem is it’s quite sunny and still has low humidity most of the time in winter though which defeats the purpose. At that point it’s just boring Colorado.

Steelernation Your current dream climate is much worse than 2021 and earlier revisions IMO, not only because of the worse crummer averages, but also the cloudy as shit winters.

Interesting thread! One day I will learn to make my own tweaks, but for now Ranfurly New Zealand is a good idea of what I like. 🥰

My Lastest Dream Climate

My latest dream climate was started in 2021, on 22nd November, with daily real-time weather data being recorded. This might make it seem like I can have any weather I want whenever I want - that is largely true, except that it still fits into something of a predetermined climate type. In this case it's a mid-latitude highly moderated oceanic style of climate, but would not be quite like any on earth, but perhaps a similar earth like planet. The atmosphere of this planet is much more unstable than the earth's meaning that any disturbance in the weather is more likely to generate convection and most of the precipitation is convective even in maritime and oceanic climates. My particular climate would likely be at about 40-44°N, and has fairly strong sun but high levels of oceanic moderation all year, so small temperature ranges, which I find most comfortable. 

Because the data for my climate is being recorded in real-time, there won't be any official averages until 5 years have passed - the first lot will appear therefore in 2027, encompassing the years 2022-2026. However, in the mean-time I have produced a table of what would be my estimations for the climate by then - which may not be so realistic depending on how much my climate morphs over the next few years.  There are no records included in this estimation. 



Perfect climate! Comfortable and warm summers with mild, comfortable winters, and the rain is almost all convective with plenty of thunder at any time of year.

tommyFL Quite nice, it's deffo better than before. I like the nice mild winters and the abundance of sunshine all-around. Its main flaw is that it's got uninteresting record highs in the warm season, though. I give it a B+.

tommyFL I'd consider that an improvement, your new dream climate has three warm months now. Summer record highs need improvement, as do winter record lows, but it's overall good.

Benfxmth very nice, though obviously I'd prefer average dew points lower than that. May looks like a superb month by any standards though.

My brain isn't really wired to do the fantasy favourite climate thing.... but if I did, this would be close....
