As promised in the shoutbox the other day ( Steelernation), here's New Madison, my mildest, most comfortable, and most South Florida-like dream climate yet:  (Summer dew points are likely a bit unrealistically low, but one can dream.  ) |

Madison had 7 this past month and this only averages 1 day/month more than that. Although I guess if itโs heavy rain you donโt mind it being less frequent? Also expected more seasonal lag with August /September being the warmest months and spring being cooler. Itโs definitely a big improvement over your last one although obviously still far too warm for my tastes. |

After all, only three of Madison's seven precipitation days in May were 0.10" or greater, and two of those just barely! You're also right that I should have included more seasonal lag and a warmer August and September - I admittedly threw this climate box together in maybe 15 minutes and was more so thinking about how I also don't want an absurdly slow warm-up in early spring (IMO February should still be warmer than December, in either hemisphere). I'll probably revise this a little later. |

Cheeseman Near-identical annual mean as here, but warmer winters/cooler summers, drier with fewer rain days, prone to extreme heat, and tiny negative anomalies in winter. In general, just worse all around.

Well, it goes to show I'm a comfort wanker. 55% annual possible sunshine is quite low relative to prior dream climates of mine, as I've realized my dislike for extended dry sunny periods is stronger than I'd thought. |

Definitely a downgrade. Less cool-season rain, more warm rain, and less dry heat than your previous dream climates Cheeseman. Still pretty good and inoffensive as far as tropical climates go, of course. |

Fair enough desiccatedi85. There are still plenty of days of dry warmth with low dew points throughout the year, especially in the summer and autumn. It's just that the recent and ongoing drought around here has made me realize I don't want an especially dry and sunny season - too much of the same kind of weather day in and day out just makes me cranky, and I don't like when the sun just beats down on you relentlessly and makes it feel that much warmer than it actually is. |

That's an extreme place for sure. Summer is wet and warm, growing season of 4-5 months, so you could grow stuff there. Cold snowy winters...with a decent diurnal in July but tiny tiny diurnal in August lol.

I made weatherboxes every year since 2010. Takes like 5 minutes to do a year in excel, very easy. All average temp and snowfall anomalies are the same as Cheyenne and record temps and precipitation are nearly the same but modified in some spots. As these are based off a real climate, this is how my dream climate would actually look year too year.
