Yeah but Hortensis gets more cold rain while Summerville receives a greater portion of its winter precipitation as snow. No it doesnβt. For DJF assuming 10:1 ratios Summerville: 459-58 = 401 mm of cold rain Hortensis: 320-29 = 291 mm of cold rain

For DJF assuming 10:1 ratios Summerville: 459-58 = 401 mm of cold rain Hortensis: 320-29 = 291 mm of cold rain well Hortensis gets less precipitation overall so of course it gets less cold rain, but since average winter lows are colder in Summerville, a greater percentage of that precipitation would fall as snow. Is that supposed to be the ratio between rain and snow?

Is that supposed to be the ratio between rain and snow? Yeah greater percentage as snow in Summerville but itβs much wetter so still an extra couple inches of cold rain which I donβt want. 14β of snow is still enough to be guaranteed so Iβll take the less snow for less cold rain. Yeah 10:1 is a typical ratio

Hortensis for being warmer and presumably sunnier. And nothing personal, but Summerville is not exactly summer for most of the year...

Hortensis City is better than the not at all aptly named Crummerville - warmer year-round and much less snowy.

Hortensis City. Slightly warmer summers and presumably sunnier winters given diurnals (even though they aren't mentioned)
