Very similar climates when it comes to temperatures. Both can get pretty hot due to a large desert in proximity (i.e. Sahara and Great Australian Desert). The only difference is the precipitation spread/amount and sunshine hours.

Sydney for the more even rainfall
Also, we simultaneously made threads involving a Moroccan city!

Sydney better by far. If you like dry summers, Sydney's aren't all that wet.

Rabat - better sun distribution/more sun
Sydney gets 16 thunder days per year. That's a low number, and I doubt that those T-storms are high quality/strong. And Sydney can get horribly cloudy summers.

Sydney. Never recorded a temperature below freezing, interesting summer record highs, and adequate rainfall year-round.

Sydney for not having summer aridity. Both are excellent though!

Rabat for that sweet sweet Mediterranean rainfall pattern and the higher summer diurnals.

And Sydney can get horribly cloudy summers. Nah, our thunderstorms can be pretty intense. So much that they injured four people in the Royal Botanic Gardens last month. As for cloudy summers, January and particularly February can be rather overcast. But certainly not every year. This summer was an anomaly with the really feeble sunshine hours.

Initially inclined with Sydney then changed my mind. I voted Rabat.
