I went with Sacramento- decent heat in the summer, fairly cold winter.
Decent sunshine hours too!

Alturas.
Truckee is better in the Nov-Feb period but Alturas is by far better the rest of the year, though summer lows could be warmer.

Redding easily, it’s an essentially perfect A grade climate, just a bit too hot in summer.
