A long stretch of below-freezing nights ahead of us.

Above average but at least it looks rainy. Not good for the ski resorts though.

When was the last time London recorded an ice day (high below 0°C)? Either January 2013 or March 2013.

Either January 2013 or March 2013. Nice, then I will probably experience the coldest day since 5 years.

Easterlies are usually more significant for the south of England (because it's nearer the cold source on the continent) but we're still forecast slightly colder than London. Another ice day would be good because that would mean ice days in three consecutive months, which is rare enough here that it's actually only happened twice so far this century (Dec 09-Feb 10, Jan-Mar 13)

We're likely to be colder than London as well, though it's logical in this configuration. Does London has a subtropical climate?

Excessively nasty for this time of the year... starting to fear a repeat of 2005, 2006 and 2013 now since in no shape of form I trust the Baltic Sea to warm quickly when a late-season hit like this arrives Nothing against cold here on Feb 1-Feb 15, but now I want to start to see 5°C days with sun in the forecast...

Extreme cold on the way! London's last ice day was 20th January 2013, with a high of -0.2c. Before that, December 2010 had 4 ice days, and January 1997 also had 4 ice days.
