Belle Fourche, South Dakota is near the geographic center of the United States, which moved some 550 miles northwest from the geographic center of the contiguous United States in Lebanon, Kansas with the admission of Alaska and Hawaii in the mid-20th century. Alice Springs is close to the Lambert gravitational centre (and it's the only weather station in the vicinity), although there is no official centre of Australia.  |

Alice Springs is better. Neither is great but at least some times of the day are comfortable in Alice Spring's summer, unlike Belle Fourche's winter.
