So this is a new thread for when you've changed the real stats of your climate by adding more sun hours, changing the proximity to the sea, or elevation, or whatever you want. I personally do this with each day's data (yes every single day) changing it a bit at a time in iterations. So I can pick a shit year and change it better in a series of iterations til its something I'd live in. Pretty cool as if you pick an individual year it still has some of the same features of course (like if that year had a colder May, warmer August, wetter September for example), but in an improved version. Here's an example for Sheffield Sheffield 2023 real data: And now, one iteration into a Med direction and one iteration into a Continental direction. The med version has got warmer altogether and sunnier and drer in summer and wetter in winter. Of course the change isn't huge as it's one iteration. I'd have to do several until it looks like something you'd see in the actual Med. Secondly is one iteration into a Continental direction, which has colder, snowier winters and is sunnier and drier overall, with drier winters and wetter convective summers. If I kept going, it would become well below 0 means in winter, and much warmer in summer.

Too lazy to make a weather box now but here’s what I’d do to turn Fort Collins from a good to great climate:
Change 1: Enlarge the gulf of California and expand it to the east and north. This would strengthen the southwest monsoon and put Fort Collins more directly in its path. This, summer would get wetter.
Change 2: Expand the Gulf of Mexico north and west. This would be another moisture source in winter and spring, probably summer as well too.
Change 3: Flatten the Sierras and Great Basin ranges and flip the Rockies so they run east-west of Fort Collins rather than north-south as they do now. This would allow moisture from pacific storms to reach us in winter and block arctic air, making winter significantly milder. Probably wetter as well as prevailing winds would be from the south.
Winters would probably be more like 55/30 or so in this scenario and summer highs maybe slightly cooler due to increased moisture. I’d guess maybe 25-30” of precipitation with a spring and summer peak. I’ll make a box tomorrow.
