^^ that can be said for every large city worldwide... nothing new.
Melbourne ( a large Greek city btw ), Sydney, Brisbane.... these places have huge variations within the greater metropolitan areas.
Sydney in particular, the Official site quoted in correspondence/literature/BoM bulletins is actually an exposed Sydney Harbor site prone to UHI that is not particularly representative of the 5 million population ie where people actually live.
Sydney Airport has higher means than the CBD site as does all the Stations inland/west of the CBD.
But you must realize that a commercial AU$1500.00 Davis ain't gunna cut it with even the most dumb arsed weather nerd compared to an official Govt Screen sanctioned site...
