No one would describe London as “warmer” lmao London has a higher annual mean temp than Chicago. Narrowly, and that’s entirely because of winter overnight lows. A winter like the one Chicago had this year, in 2022-23, and many years before that, isn’t that “extremely cold” by continental or global standards. It’s cold and snow is pretty standard. We saw very little snow this year, or the year before. Spring and Fall stand to be much warmer in Chicago, and summer is much hotter and more humid in Chicago, with thunderstorms and more real sunshine. How could anyone pick London? We’ve been warmer than London often gets in summer in Chicago this week. |

Chicago’s mean maximum, despite colder winter avg highs, is a degree above London’s because the average summer highs are much warmer, and the average maximums are way warmer all around. Unless you’re out at midnight all the time in winter, no one should be noting London’s “warmth” vs Chicago, because Chicago gets more actual warmth. The superior heat of the Dfa climate is felt when you’re out on the lake amidst bright blue skies, with everyone else joining you. Beach volleyball. Hot, humid atmosphere, sand that burns the feet, often warm nights…you don’t get this in London.. |

Alright, I'm gonna switch my vote to London after coming to think of those lurking variables. London has much warmer and more comfortable summers on avg than Chicago, whether you like that fact or not. DEAL WITH IT.

London easily. Chicago literally has average highs below freezing in midwinter. That means an ugly ass snowpack will sustain. London has far better winter/spring/fall temps, and it's much drier than Chicago in summer too, another bonus. London is darker and wetter in the summer, it just doesn’t get downpours. Why are you lying? I'm not lying. London gets half as much rain in summer as Chicago. |
