These towns have a similar name - in fact, both mean "hope" in French/Spanish, and coincidentally have 13,000 inhabitants. They even both have mild climates, though their precipitation patterns are different. Esperance is a typical Southern Ocean climate in Australia with bipolar summers, while La Esperanza is the coolest station in Honduras. Some of you tropical lovers probably thought it would be an easy Honduras, but it might not be as clear-cut as you think especially with Esperance's record highs. Esperance, WALa Esperanza, Honduras

Honduras. Less heat, more thunderstorms, less rain days

Esperance, WA. More interesting record high temps, I don't like the high variability of summers but it's not like La Esperanza is warm either.

Honduras because it doesn't get extreme heat and it still gets colder record lows. Much better precip amounts/pattern as well.

Honduras for thunderstorms and a better precipitation pattern. Except for the 5 days of extreme heat a year, Esperance is extremely boring.

This was a tough one, but I'm gonna go with Esperance for never having recorded a frost and having the potential for more heat in summer.

Esperance for seasonality and generally being more variable. Like a better version of SLO.

Oh, Esperance does record the odd frost.... just depends which site in and around town the data is taken for the climate wikibox... This is from the now closed Post Office site....

Esperance, has a bit more of everything I need.
High altitude tropical climates can fuck off. British crummers year round until the sun balloons into a red giant.

Esperance WA for getting more seasonality in temps and a nice Mediterranean rain pattern. Good climate

Esperance WA for more seasonality. Also, the record highs are better by orders of magnitude.

Wouldn't mind either. Today I feel like Esperanza.

Voted for Honduras because of Esperance's awfully dry summers
