I substituted missing precip data on the 24th and 25th with that from the nearby Boeing Field Station.

Average April conditions (1991-2020) Average high: 20.5°C | Daily mean: 15.2°C | Average low: 9.9°C Average precipitation: 38.9mm | Average precipitation days (>0.2mm): 10.0 | Average relative humidity: 54%
After a couple of extremely dry months, the rain returned with a vengeance. Overall, April was cool, drizzly, and cloudy, without notable temp extremes.

London, April 2024 - slightly warmer than average due to mild nights, very wet and very cloudy. Avg max: 15.0c (0.0c) Avg min: 7.2c (+1.2c) Mean: 11.1c (+0.6c) Rainfall: 68.6mm (162%) Sunshine: 137.7 hours (78%) Thanks for the summary! Just wondering where you're getting sunshine hours from? Unlike the rest of your table, it doesn't seem to match Metoffice data for LHR: www.metoffice.gov.uk/pub/data/weather/uk/climate/stationdata/heathrowdata.txti.e. 126.3 hrs for April, 94.9 for March etc. In any case, this autumn/winter/spring (basically everything after the warm Sep 2023) has been an absolute steaming pile of crap in London. I recall something like 5 proper sunny days since October, with probably 2 of them in January when it was -2°C

I recall something like 5 proper sunny days since October, with probably 2 of them in January when it was -2°C They are corrected values, as the sun recorder at Heathrow under-reports sunshine compared with the old one. The corrected/true values are the ones used on the Met Office monthly summary maps whereas the ones on that link are the raw values. It's been the wettest 18 months on record, with very few dry months since September 2022, and an exceptionally wet and dull start to 2024. I can't remember it ever being this bad, it makes last spring look good, and that was poor. Don't forget that spring and summer last year were also awful (excluding a 6 week spell in May/June).

Cloudier, drier and average temperatures. Two weeks in the middle were utter garbage. Start and end were nice.

Other summariesSydney OH failed to record rain on the 6th, so I used data from the Sydney Botanic Gardens. A LOT of rain fell that day so I didn't want to leave it out. There was also no sunshine data for the 12th and 23rd, and since both of those days appeared to be sunny I assumed 10 hours for both. Again, I didn't want to leave out those days given how sunny they were. Perth's weatherbox has already been posted, but I'm putting this here for completeness. The exceptionally warm and dry start to the year makes it look like a tropical desert lol. That drop in maximums between March and April seems more reminiscent of a continental climate. Also, a very dry Feb-Apr period.

Umeå vs same latitude Norway (Frosta). This should be illegal. Take these data with a grain of salt since they're infoclimat and not official.

April was a double-edged sword. The first half was very warm, resembling May. Got up to 30.5C, which is a tie with the old record high (Apr 29th, 2012). The second half was much colder, featuring a polar nuke that brought temperatures down significantly. The temperatures in that period resembled those in March of this year. In the end, April ended above average. It was also drier (-17.3 mm/ -0.69") and sunnier than average, significantly so (+68h). 1991-2020 period for comparison: And despite that cold outburst in the middle of the month that lasted a good 10 days, it was orders of magnitude better than April 2023:

Unremarkable month but it was pleasant, especially after that horrific March. Overall very sunny and dry.

Is this data from your PWS? Yes. Nice. Why don't you measure snowfall though? It would be interesting and it's an important aspect of a climate

2.1F warmer than normal and 5.29" more precip than normal. Had 3 heavy rainfall events. Also had severe weather in the area on the night of April 28 with damaging wind to my north - a report of straight line winds estimated at 80-100 mph! Data for my PWS.
