Also an interesting thing to consider
There is a possibility that some locations like Sparta, Serres or Skala Messinias might challenge the Montoro European record for the highest mean maximum temperature for JJA which currently stands at 38.5C from 2017.
All 3 locations currently have a JJA mean max of 38.4C so far. Seeing that models suggest for August a repetition of what happened in July then you never know. It's all down on whether it will cool down in Greece during the second half of August.
In any case the summer of 2024 is crazy hot by Greece's standards. The fact that we are talking Greece challenging areas like Montoro seems sci-fi...
And its not only Greece. Most of the Balkans and SE Europe are experiencing by far their hottest summer ever...
