So the WMO station in Sparta from NOA has probably just registered the highest reliable June mean max in Europe with 37.6C. The brand new HNMS station in Sparta recorded close to 38.0C however I am not counting the Sparta HNMS one because there are a few days missing. While I am not 100% sure, I think the second highest I can find in Europe is 37.3C in Cordoba AP back in 2017. Can anyone find any other higher value in Europe for June?

Share it with me. I ll take it to my grave. You haven’t proven yourself worthy. Only the council can adjudicate such things.

Just found it. Cordoba AP was in fact 37.7C in June 2017. Also 105ºF average max there in July 2022 is the hottest ever for a month in Europe.

Btw Sparta HNMS surely beats the 37.7C in Cordoba but seeing its a new HNMS station someone might need to contact them via email to ask them to check.

I know you and I had a scuffle over this before, but these Greek/Med Islands are 'extended' West Asian or Anatolian (Asia Minor as they called it) little archipelagos. Okay, maybe they're halfway between continental Europe and West Asia. I don't know, I just don't see Med islands as quintessentially European (geographically not culturally). Hell, the islands to the south have more geographical common with North Africa. Either way, they're geographical transition zones...but CMV

This is Sparta bitches.
Summer 2024 recorded an all time record mean max T of 38.01C (JJA) in Sparta HNMS station. Cordoba's record was 38.39C in 2017 and Montoro's 38.53C.
You don't mess with Leonidas.
