Your own-made climate diagrams

Inspired by the shoutbox discussion whether Melbourne is just Scotland with a handful of hot days thrown in, I have compared mean, median and mode (the peak in the density plots below) for daily T Max values at Frankfurt Airport 1991-2020.

The winter months especially are quite symmetric here, meaning that mean median and mode values are very similar and the means hence represent the average day quite well. July, however, has a bimodal distribution where mean and median values of 26 °C are actually in a valley and days with 23 and 28 °C highs are more common. September and to a lesser extent October and April and March have a skewed distribution where the most common highs are quite a bit colder than mean values but also with high positive anomalies.
