One has unstable crummy summers (with cool to cold nights) and the other has reliably warm, sunny summers. But here's the catch: One has much cooler winters and there is the odd snow.

That part of western Victoria is one of the oldest European settlements in the State ( 1830's ) and is a very wealthy landed gentry district with a lot of old money going back 6-8 generations. A National Party conservative stronghold, it was the home district of former LNP Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser ( 1975-1983 ).

I've been enjoying this summer, so Venice which has a similar warmer, wetter, more humid summer.
Hamilton's winter is better but some snow wouldn't hurt.

Venice Italy. Hamilton's crummers are horrible and Venice's winters arent cold enough to tank its grade.

Venice. Much warmer summer nights and the winters aren't that much colder.

Venice. Worse temps but much more interesting, the other place gets next to no storms.

Some examples of Hamilton's bi-polar changeable summer months in 2019. ( Max temps )

Hamilton for the drier summers and the milder, rainier winters.

Venice for not having polar crummer lows. Looks more interesting as well.

Another vote for Venice on account of not having arctic crummer average lows.
