Another of those same name/similar name climate battles. One climate is pretty hot and the other is pretty cool/chilly (salvaged by its pleasant summers).

I had the dubious pleasure of doing a job in Onslow in 1998-1999.... was just your bog standard outback WA shithole kinda town, albeit on the coast. Turned out to be a great job, great people, and a nice little place despite being your quintessential outback shithole c/w the quadrella of heat, dust, flies and feral blackfellas. Onslow gets some extreme heat, being at sea level... but rarely has consecutive days that turn into weeks of extremes like the inland iron ore provinces of the Pilbara... high 40c's max temps are often tempered down some by the sea breeze. Hottest day I saw there was 48.0c on the beach in Feb 1998. We ( a Darwin crew ) found the sub 12c mins in the winter months somewhat chilly...

Onslow for not being horrifically cold and snowy in winter and it gets tons more dry heat and is much more comfortable.
