Temps 1.5F above normal and 1.83" wetter than normal at the airport. The month was overall quite dry until the final days of the month when a tropical disturbance brought some rounds of heavy downpours. Also the airport experienced a macroburst on the evening of August 28 that brought a 90 mph wind gust! I didn't get much from that storm where I live. Was pretty hot for a while but nothing like 2023. Two days 100F+. Also had a few days of decreased humidity and lows in the 60's. Data for my PWS:

Perth, Western Australia. August 2024 Summary
Max monthly temp: 26.2°C Min monthly temp: 3.3°C
Mean Max temp: 19.9°C (+0.8°C) Mean Min temp: 11.4°C (+3°C)
Rainfall >1mm: 138.4mm (+15.4mm) Rainy days >1mm: 19 days (+5.9 days)
Sunshine hours: 181.1 hours (-42.1 hours)
Afternoon relative humidity: 58%
This month for month was significantly milder with the lowest average temperature being 3°C above average. This was mainly because of the significant amount of rainy and overcast days we have had. This in turn has created one of the cloudiest August months in recent Perth memory. Sunshine hours here are rarely above or below 20 hours from average so this was quite noticeable.

August was warm, sunny and dry.
This is going to be the best year since at least 2010. I wish I could enjoy it more.

August was slightly above average but otherwise fairly unremarkable and a pretty average summer month. Precipitation was slightly above average, although half of it came in a single storm late in the month. The rest of the month was on the dry side just like July, though thankfully there wasn't too much wildfire smoke, and the rain we did get helped the grass start to green up a bit more toward the end of the month. Average high: 26.7C (normal: 25.0C) Average low: 12.3C (normal: 11.5C) Mean temperature: 19.5C (normal: 18.3C) Warmest high: 35.1C (Aug 20th) Warmest low: 19.4C (Aug 20th) Coldest high: 19.0C (Aug 6th) Coldest low: 5.5C (Aug 8th) Precipitation total: 55.6mm (normal: 46.4mm) Precipitation days: 8 (normal: 8.0) Heaviest precipitation day: Aug 23rd (27.5mm) Sunshine: 313.2 hours (normal: 214.7)

August 2024 summary:
What can I say. This year has been amazing. Warmest February on record by far, 2nd warmest March, April record high tied, warmest July on record. And then I get not only the warmest August on record, but the warmest month on record!August 2024 was probably the best summer month I've ever experienced. Just like July, it was very sunny and warm. And just like July, it was very dry for the most part, but it had a record-breaking soaker on the 20th, bringing 89.9 mm/3.54 in, the highest amount ever recorded in a single day. This made the month above average in terms of precipitation. The special thing about this month wasn't the extreme heat, but rather a lack of any cold. Lowest high/lowest low were 27.1C/16.2C, and that's a record figure (avg low for August is 16C). And now you'll see why it's not good to use the ancient averages in today's climates: Old averages:
Zagreb 2024:
Those anomalies are straight up ridiculous. Zagreb's climate today is very different from Zagreb's old climate.
Nevertheless, here are the anomalies for this August (1991-2020 averages):
High: 31.7C/89.1F (+3.6C/6.5F) Mean: 25.4C/77.7F (+3.6C/6.5F) Low: 19.1C/66.4F (+3.1C/5.6F)
Precipitation: 108.5mm/4.27" (+22.9mm/0.9") Sun: 339 (+65h)
And this summer has been the warmest summer for Zagreb and for the majority of the country:

^^^ That's awesome. Comparing with 1961-90 normals really puts into perspective just how quickly warming some places in this world are. It isn't gonna be too long before this summer becomes the new norm for there.

We’re speeding towards an AMOC collapse. An AMOC collapse would give all of Europe much hotter summers, in addition to very cold winters.

Other summaries:
Warmest August for Split, hottest summer on record (slightly warmer than 2003).
2nd warmest summer for Rijeka (2003 was warmer), warmest month on record though.
34C average high for August is pretty wild for Osijek. Also, it was the #1 summer and warmest month on record.
