Both are of similar latitudes (42' and 43' N).

Boston
Would choose Aktau if its winters were colder, with everything else the same.

Neither climate particularly floats my boat... a wetter cold climate V a drier cold climate... yeah/nah

Aktau - warmer, sunnier, drier.

How much sun does Aktau get, especially in winter months? Temps/precip alone aren't enough for me to decide for this one

Aktau has superior temps, but it's mind numbingly dry. I'll pick Aktau, but it's not really ideal.

How much snow does Aktau get? Iโd like to know this as well. Aktau wins it for simply being warmer.

I would think its summers are reliably warm and consistent, unlike Boston's. Fort-Shevchenko can be used as a proxy, it isn't too far away and has legit sunshine data: Anyway, as for the battle, based on that I'm gonna be going with Boston for the extra winter sunshine, though that's a very close one. Aktau has better summer temps, though seems to get next to no storms if the precip is anything to go by.

I'm gonna go with Aktau, even though it is an arid shithole. It presumably gets less snow, and I just don't do nor'easters.
