My dream climate vs. desiccatedi85 's dream climate. Temperatures are very similar but mine has a wet summer while Palomares has a dry summer. And there are some subtle differences like variable winters vs. summers, humidity, sunshine, and seasonal lag. My climate is more windy (though not extremely windy). Mine gets 40 thunderstorms a year while Palomares gets 50.

Palmores
- Lovely precip pattern, drier, better temps overall, more snow
Arcleo City has better record lows though. An all-time record low of 20.2ยฐF is a complete joke.

Everythingโs better in Arcleo City except the precipitation pattern.

Goddamn. Do I choose Arcleo's better dewpoints and precip pattern or Palomares' better summer record highs/extra storms and spring warmup (minus the massive gay fuck temp drop in August)?
They're both tied really, I'm gonna go with Palomares with the flip of a coin. Fun Fact, Arcleo City and Palomares are only 0.1ยฐF and 0.4ยฐF off New Bern's annual mean temp respectively.

Arcleo City for being wet year round and having slightly cooler summer highs

Palomares for more sun and warmer summers. Though Arcleo City is pretty good too.

Surprisingly tough for a med vs. non med climate. I like the lower dews, less wind, and more storms in Palomares but that summer is brutally boring there. Arcleo city wins.

Really not a fan of Palomares' complete lag of seasonal lag, although the average dewpoints are great. Abstaining from the poll.

Arcleo slightly thanks to its even rainfall pattern

edit: made my own summer highs ever so slightly cooler
I've been more okay with cool weather lately. Felt like July here was a pretty ideal summer month.
Maybe I'll make the winters colder later in the year for it to get more snow but I don't want chilly shoulder seasons and I'll see until when I still enjoy the weather here.

Changing my vote to Palomares after seeing arcleoโs post that most thunderstorms are quite weak.

Changing my vote to Palomares after seeing arcleo โs post that most thunderstorms are quite weak. I meant that most thunderstorms here are quite weak, so I want more than I previously thought. The thunderstorms in Arcleo City are about as strong as places in the eastern US that get 40 thunderstorms a year, like Chicago, Pittsburgh, or Norfolk. Probably stronger than the ones here. Like we're supposed to get 20 thunderstorms but not all of them feel like thunderstorms, if you get what I mean. Realistically, most places get a lot of unimpressive thunderstorms, so I have to increase the number. Not trying to convince you of anything, just fyi

Changing my vote to Palomares after seeing arcleo โs post that most thunderstorms are quite weak. Palomares gets mostly high-quality storms of the frontal variety, which are most frequent in spring and fall (similar to in the stormier parts of the Med basin). Presumably much better than the weak, spotty convective storms that Arcleo City gets.

Whatโs the distribution like there? With a relatively low number like that Iโd prefer mostly in the summer months than like 3-4/month spread out.

Definitely Palomares then. No month really gets many storms, 5-6 a summer month is still pretty bad and not much better than 2. And his gets more year round.
