Lanzhou is in western China, while Seoul is the capital of South Korea. Seoul is a little bit further north (37.3 degrees north) than Lanzhou (36 degrees north). They have similar climates, except that Seoul is a bit warmer and wetter. Which one do you prefer?

Both places have infuriating winters (cold, little snow) so I guess Iโll go for the more pleasant summers. Lanzhou.

Lanzhou for the warmer highs, lack of seasonal lag, and far better, drier summers

Lanzhou only for being sunnier and drier really. Still deplorable.

Seoul for being rainier. Lanzhou is semi-arid so can't get a high rating.

Seoul for sensibly warm lows in summer, easy

Seoul because it isn't arid.

I dunno. No major preference really. Lanzhou seems boring as fuck but I could be wrong.
The monsoon in Seoul would get annoying after a few years.
Seoul has slightly longer winters and colder record lows in winter. Lanzhou has colder average lows in winter.
If anything, Seoul seems more affected by the Siberian high than Lanzhou.
Voting for Seoul I guess because I'm a polar foamer/tropical wanker.
Seoul's sunshine hours and distribution are very good though.

I have to choose Lanzhou for cooler summer nights on my priority, despite being too dry.

Lanzhou for drier, less humid, sunnier summers. Winters are equally shit.

Lanzhou despite being too dry and boring. Seoul has better temps for the most part, but those excessively wet and cloudy summers aren't good.

Changed my vote to Lanzhou. Seoul gets flooded/washed out summers. I like summer rain but Seoul's is too excessive (especially recently).

Seoul by a good margin, for being wetter
