We had a thread where we listed what we don't like about our climates, but what about the flip side? Let's be positive and think of the good aspects. I'll go first:
- mild year round but still having some seasonal variation - evenly distributed rainfall - usually not stuck in the same weather pattern for a long time due to our frontal nature - storms are often somewhat decent even though we don't get that many in the first place - good mix of sun and cloud

- Extended period of mild to warm or slightly hot weather. - Nights in early summer are comfortable despite extremely hot days. - Our rare thunderstorms are often interesting and beautiful, and our scanty rainfall comes in interesting heavy downpours!

New London, CT (C+):
Excellent summers, especially in the more recent warmer years Good mix of humid and dry summer heat Interesting and varied weather year-round Enough precipitation to support a forest Interesting and unpredictable convective showers Good mix of sun and cloud
San Luis Obispo, CA (B-)
Comfortable temperatures year-round, no heat or A/C needed Good winter rainfall on most years Good amount of sun in winter Winter rain is fairly heavy, light drizzle for days is rare Fun wind storms in winter and spring Marine layer/fog can be beautiful
Seattle, WA (C)
Fairly mild temperatures year-round Good amount of sun in the warmer half of the year Enough precipitation to support a forest Occasional snow is nice and not inconvenient Warm and sunny spring days are really nice

Comfortable temperatures most of the year. Comfortable decent summers. No heat especially hot nights. Not too sunny. Not much ice/snow in winter. No severe weather (except occasional severe winds).

-Relatively mild winter days, about half in an average month are pleasant
-Interesting extreme day to day temp changes a few times a year
-Can get some heavy snow
-Quick warmup in March
-Warm days in winter are dry, not wasted with heavy day long rain like in the east
-Rainy springs
-Solid amount of thunderstorms, with some good quality ones
-Comfortable temps much of the yearβwinter cold snaps usually are short lived and summers arenβt overly hot
-Lack of humidity, dews above 60 almost never happen except for during/after precipitation when itβs cooled down
-Very pleasant falls with lots of dry days and little wind

I give my climate a B-
- Average summer lows are near ideal
- Great precip pattern
- Sunny summers
- No disgusting humid heat
- Precipitation is usually light
- Plenty of cool/cold rain
- Capable of getting respectable snowstorms although it doesn't happen all that often. February 2019 and 2021 are notable examples.

- Average temperatures and its progress by each month
- Sakura season in late March (Correlates when average mean is about 10Β°C)
- Precipitation mostly falls in light or moderate intensity
- Amount of annual precipitation
- Decent precipitation pattern
- Great mix between sunny and cloudy weather in summer
- Frost days per year (Almost guaranteed to see frosts every year but doesn't fall much below than that)

Overall good summers, with no shortage of hot and humid evenings and pleasantly warm mornings that actually feel like summer, and the occasional epic heatwaves with 95+Β°F temps and 80Β°F dewpoints
Spectacular thunderstorms that are not uncommon in summer, either the more unpredictable seabreeze front pulse type or ones moving from inland (more predictable but stronger when they do make it here)
Plenty of sunny crisp clear days in winter, with enough sunshine to not make you depressed, plus variety to keep the weather enthusiast excited (the warm days in winter with 70s temps that can come out of the left field feel euphoric af)
Rain generally doesn't last for the entire day, in summer it's predominantly from heavy convective showers and storms and with heavy short-lasting frontal rain in winter
Rain predominately falls with warmer than normal temps in winter, meaning cold rain isn't very common

Summers are decent and are getting warmer, that's a big plus.
It doesn't have that many days that have bad weather. Most of the time, it's rather comfortable.
It's not very windy, so most of the time there is no windchill.
It can have long stretches of warm and sunny weather, good for the outdoors.
Decent thunderstorms (especially in the May-July period)

Itβs dry most of the time
Temperatures are very comfortable, but thereβs still distinct seasons
Lots of sunshine
Fog rolls in over the mountains in afternoon, a common yet beautiful sight
Mediterranean precipitation pattern
Perfect balance of humidity. We almost never get humid heat, but it hardly ever gets uncomfortably dry either.
Lack of drastic cold snaps. I complained about the lack of winter variability in the other thread, but honestly itβs a blessing overall.
The list can probably extend much longer, but Iβve lived here so long that I probably take the awesome climate here for granted.

Can wear shorts, singlet and bare feet 24/7/365.... hell its only the last decade or so the shopping centers require footwear to be worn. 5 rainless months means weddings, parties, funerals, bbq's, sporting events, camping trips, building works, construction projects are not gunna be interrupted by wet weather. A sub 25c day is termed as a cold day and attracts media attention.... lol Then the build up storm season begins... nature at its finest with the most amazing lightning shows and crashing thunder... between 80 and 100 storm days a season.. And when the monsoon arrives it brings cooler overcast and rain, lots of rain that renews life, revives the parched landscape, fills the billabongs, creeks and rivers... BRING IT ON !! The contrasts of the seasons ( local Indigenous recognise 6 seasons ) is just incredible !!

Summer:
Generally sunny Hot, good mix of cooler sea breeze days The sea breeze which helps out a lot.
Autumn: Summer heat extends into March and occasionally early April. The first strong cold fronts.
Winter: Good mix of seasonal rainfall; winters can be quite wet but there's always plenty of variability in conditions in winter. Winter storms and cold fronts provide lots of excitement Cool crisp mornings, the city is green and active.
Spring: Early sunrises allow for earlier warmth in the day Quick reduction in rain and increase in sunlight which overturns the overall lack of warmth early in spring (spring lag).
