I once read an article that mentioned Pittsburg, and I thought it was referring to the city in Pennsylvania at first. Turns out there's also a city with the same name in the Bay Area, but without the 'h' at the end. Pittsburg, California was named after Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania due to the shared steel and mining heritage. What is not shared however is the climate - which one is better in this case? Pittsburgh, PAPittsburg, CAData from nearby Antioch for a more comprehensive weatherbox. It's only a short distance away but you can already see the effect of microclimates in the Bay Area.

California one. Summer monthly mean temps are about the same, but winter temps are better with more sunshine.

California. Warmer year round, and more importantly, it doesn't snow there.

Pennsylvania for being more interesting and getting storms. The Californian place has awesome winters though but 5 months of no rain and 1 storm a year ainโt it.

California one wins by far for mild winters, warm springs, and dry summers

California for the nearly ideal temperatures and not having cloudy winter, even though the Pennsylvanian one has pretty ideal precipitation and much better summers.

California for the milder winters, though I prefer the summers in the PA one

Pittsburgh because the Californian one lingers warmer & dry season beyond my limit.

Pittsburg, CA. I'm not sure if their summer qualifies as a crummer but I would say not (although 13-14 C lows are marginal), and PA isn't really any better temp-wise. I would guess Pittsburgh, PA is well ahead in terms of interest value with their snow and storms. But CA is much warmer and sunnier overall (Pittsburgh, PA would probably have around 1700 sunshine hrs by international measurement standards).
