New Plymouth in winter and Neuquรฉn in summer would be ideal.
If I have to spend a year in one though, Neuquรฉn for having warm summers.

Nequen. Much better summers. NZ winters are slightly warmer (mainly due to lows) but much wetter. At this temp range the drier climate will almost always win for me.
