These Aussie cities have similar names, similar temperatures and similar precipitation. However, they have different rainfall patterns being on different sides of the continent. By the way, I saw that Ethereal made the same thread on C-D ten years ago, with the results being tied. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a rematch a decade later lol. www.city-data.com/forum/weather/2108402-climate-battle-perth-wa-vs-penrith.htmlPerth, WAPenrith, NSW

Penrith. Same summer temps, same winters, better sunshine pattern, superior precip pattern and more storms.

Wow I just remembered that thread. Can't believe it's been a decade...Lmao.
Anyways, Perth for the hot dry summers and especially warmer winter lows (Penrith can get frost, which is detrimental for muh tropical plants).

Penrith. Same summer temps, same winters, same sunshine, superior precip pattern and likely more storms.
Avg for Sydney is 2639 h. Penrith is a suburb of Sydney (50 km from it). How does a suburb of Sydney get 600 sunshine hours more than Sydney?

Perth for relatively less lightning frequency.

Doesn't change my vote though, 2,600 hours is still pretty good and I like how Sydney gets the most sunshine in winter and spring.

Perth shits it in... well not really Put it this way, sporting events in summer never get washed out in Perff like they do in Penriff.

Perth for having the correct rainfall pattern. And as the map Greys posted proves, it is just as stormy as Penrith, not that that matters nearly as much as rainfall pattern.
Sporting events in summer in Perff don't get washed out like they do in Penriff

Boredom breeding ground vs drug addiction.
Drug addiction because it gets more and better storms.
