Barrow is looking pretty sweet. Hilo and Key West sun angles are horrible. Any sun angle above 35-40 degrees at this time of year is unacceptable.

25.9° the highest here tomorrow, lower than NYC at its minimum still with over two months until the solstice! It looks like around 23rd October is the midpoint between the sun angle at the equinox and the winter solstice even though it's about a third of the way between them in terms of time.
It's mostly overcast at this time of year anyway so you don't notice the sun angles as much.

The sun angle drops it's quickest from about a month before the equinox until a month after the equinox, like say August 21 through October 21. The sun angle drops about half it's course from solstice to solstice during those two months. And the opposite in spring obviously.

Same thing with the day lengths, almost half of our difference of 9 hours and 45 minutes between the summer and winter solstices is lost in a third of the time! 21st June: 17 hours 8 minutes 21st August: 14 hours 27 minutes (-2h41) 21st October: 10 hours 10 minutes (-4h17) 21st December: 7 hours 23 minutes (-2h47)
