WhΓΆler voted for Canberra? But DC gets more snow, has colder winters, and arguably gets better storms... Canberra's summer is leagues ahead of DC's; drastically more variable, with far more heat and dry air as opposed to muggy codswallop, whilst still retaining good storm activity. Canberra's Foehn-affected winters can be frustrating, make no mistake, but at least they're pleasant (unlike DC's summer mugginess). DC's winters are markedly better, but they don't make up for its dreaded summers.

Although both are not ideal, Washington is the better of the two for me. Cooler winters + snowfall was the determining factor for this one.
