Since Botev iis not here, I think we could have an honest Seattle poll lol. This is Seattle versus the city in Bulgaria from where he says he's coming from in his C-D bio. For me, as much as Seattle would have sorry winters, it wins this one narrowly due to its very pleasant and ideal outdoors summers, whereas Plovdiv would feel horrible in summer. What an unbelieveable difference from there compared to Istanbul! Although September in Plovdiv would be glorious as peak summer month, by then I think I'd suffer from Miami October Syndrome and being completely unable to appreciate even 27ยฐC highs when they come along after that dreadful summer there...

I didn't know Bulgaria gets that hot in the summer, but anyway, this one is a bit tough for me, but I think I will go with Plovdiv, reminds me a lot of eastern WA except that late spring/early summer is the wettest time of the year, and for such a dry climate I prefer that type of rain distribution anyway.

For me my main issue with Seattle is that I start to sing from "Smells Like Teen Spirit" whenever I hear the name

Plovdiv is an amazing climate. One of Europeโs best. Iโd give it an A-.
Seattle is pretty shitty. Itโs an E.

Seattle is a cloudy cold drizzly shithole. Plovdiv is a very solid B/B- climate. Plovdiv easily

I wasn't expecting Plovdiv to be that hot in the summer either!
Seattle for me, it's still better than where I live.

Plovdiv. Although the summer lows are too warm, it looks far more exciting than Seattle. Knowing the nature of the PNW, it doesn't get many storms at all, thus making Plovdiv my choice.

Plovdiv has perfect temperatures, it wins by miles.

Plovdiv's summer highs do look a bit overwhelming, but they are very dry (45% humidity) and also the night temps are very comfortable. So it probably feels much milder than the chart suggests

Plovdiv. No brainer.
Someone needs to post this on C-D to see which way Botev will swing.

Plovdiv for being a good deal more continental, although it's too much of a warm climate for my tastes.

I guess it depends on your definition of a "storm", yes very few thunder storms, but Seattle has it's fair share of other storms, particularly in the fall and winter.

I know Bulgaria gets very impressive violent thunderstorms, from the experiences people have told me about!

I might actually go with Plovdiv on this despite the colder winters... I really like the overall dryness compared to Seattle and the hotter summers.

Honestly Id venture to say that Seattle winters feel worse cause 1) higher humidity 2) they're cloudier and 3) Plovdiv has quicker warmup in the spring
