This will be my last climate battle thread for a while, so what about these following years at Heathrow? 1986 - All round terrible, as bad as it gets in London with a Dfb climate. 1989 - Extreme sunshine distribution, very cold April followed by a very warm May 2016 - Very cloudy - cloudiest June on record. Warm September. The 11 year run of crap Augusts finally ends.

1986. The most exciting of the lot.

I'll have to go with 1989.
Even with the worst June of all time and recording less sun, 2016 was still way better than 1986.

89. Driest and sunniest.

1986 because of that epic February.

That Feb 86 would be been something to experience by London standards, but not if it meant living through the rest of that year. 1989 wins pretty easily.

1989 was a strange year, coldest temp in November, April colder than March with the same avg low as December, April not going above 18 C which seems shocking, with a rather fast warm-up in May.

1989 as it's the warmest and gets the most sunshine

1989 is the only one decent sunshine-wise and the summer temperatures are nice even if April is crummy

1989. But continental lovers will like the 1986 one.

1986
All years are very agreeable though. Pleasant and comfortable without an obnoxious amount of sun. Would be nice if London was wetter though. It would be an A climate with like 50 inches of rain during the year (mostly fall/winter/spring).
