since there's a gap of many years in the data for gothenburg for this period, i used the 81-10 normals for gothenburg city airport instead.

Gothenburg for the cooler summers. Winters highs are similar, but the lows are colder here. Very nice climate overall.

My own climate. Gothenburg is a massive downgrade in every month.

Rochester by far.
It improves to 4-1 in these.

Only drawback with Gothenburg over Umeรฅ is the increased rainfall and less sunshine.

It makes Nykรถping seem like a subtropical paradise in summer, ugh. I'll stay on this side thanks

Hard one because I'd choose May-September over Buxton but the other months are worse.

I'd just about rate Gothenburg over Bingley, better chance for wintry spells and the summer is slightly warmer and I presume quite a bit sunnier, but we're still talking D against D-.

What about Gothenburg city 2002-2016 (listed on the wiki)? That's quite a bit of a step up, slightly colder winters plus summers a couple of degrees warmer! Winter drags on longer than ideal like with all of these Nordic climates, but that's still a C.

I choose Gothenburg. Its further south so that means increased solar angle and winters and shoulder seasons are warmer.

May and September count towards summer for me. Also Gothenburg is sunnier. I would say higher temps in may/sepember are more important, because they prolong the summer. The same goes for november/march where they can shorten the winter. November and March are winter months here, while they are undoubtly autumn and spring months in Gothenburg. I would also say it is a big difference between a 2C and -2C in winter. One have snow and ice, and the other probably not.
