Everyone and their dog knows what I think about general Dfa and Dfb climates but here's someone that with a lot of favourable conditions I've manipulated to make an A- climate Summers lows are lower than my ideal wish to make winter lows more realistic. And yes, quite a few thunderstorms in spring, summer and autumn. EDIT, after a trip outside in 0°C today I downgrade this to B! If you want an explanation of what makes it tick and why the heck the extreme ranges are so soft and summers so long, then check this one out: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lommaren#Lommarby

D-. That's quite a good grade considering the winter lows. Should really be an E but I liked the fact the average highs are nice from May - October.

Got to downgrade it after all. Them winters would be too nasty for an A-, I'll give it a straight B. No humid continental climate gives adequate comfort for an A, not even this one

I could probably even give it an A+. What latitude is it at? Is it Coruña latitude and timezone?
What would make it a lot better is if it had a PNW style huge November to December drop with peak cold in December and February already having like 7'C highs

Yeah, around 43°N, it's all in the Wikipedia link in the OP Similar to La Coruña in terms of timezone too. For it to get an A, I think it'd have to have an 8°C winter avg high, while some light frosts would be encouraged!

B–. Nice climate, but it could've been an awful lot nicer if the summer diurnal range was 11.1°-27.6° C instead of that fucken bland 13.1°-25.6° C.

Winters a bit too short and harsh, but otherwise a nice climate. B

B+, the nights could do with being a little bit warmer outside of midsummer, but otherwise pretty much exactly what I'm looking for.
Where's the nearest climate to this in real life?

Very hard to say, because the Russian Northern Black Sea region has too warm summers, even though they're flat. They're probably the closest though. Like I stated on the Wiki userpage it'd take a bunch of weird circumstances and two opposite landmasses with a circling wind out on sea for it to happen. So maybe in a future continental movement it might come something similar although shoulder seasons are always likely to be colder.

Warmth lasts way too long, record lows are lame compared to average lows, too dry and too sunny. Winters have decent temps but warms up way too quickly and cools off far too slowly. I'll give it a D.

On the contrary, what do you think of climates like Buffalo and Toronto that has roughly similar amplitudes, but with colder shoulder seasons?

Yeah, I'd prefer those climates, I like it cool in spring/fall.
