What originally started as an island with a few tropical climates grew into a bigger continent due to my dissatisfaction with the limitations of a small tropical island. Originally, the continent was small with mainly tropical climates and this was my dream climate: Perennial warmth, humidity, lots of thunderstorms and plenty of sun. However, I started to find it a bit boring - not enough seasonal variation. So I extended my continent northwards and created the necessary terrain and features for the following climates to exist. These ones feature more seasonal variation but are still tropical or subtropical variants: I still think these are a bit lacking in seasonal variation and not enough opportunities for cool comfortable weather in winter. So the continent was extended northwards even more and these climates could be included: These are my favourite climate cities in New Florida now, good comfortable winters, and warm sunny humid summers with regular thunderstorms. So we have gone from an A m (Tropical Monsoon) climate with no seasonal variation to a much more moderate variety of C fa climate with nice seasonal variation and less than half of the annual rainfall. A big change.

Didn't really have any "proper dream climates full picture" pre-2015 so will have to go back in time to figure out what it was likely to be, because I've always had climate preferences...

Mines didn't really change that much. I just lowered the humidity by a lot, the temperatures stayed the same

My dream climate has stayed the same however I've noticed recently I dislike cold weather more. However I think my dream climate will stay the same. Lonington.. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Vidal101/sandbox#Lonington,_Latia I do have a ridiculous amount of climates I love the variety of climates a given landmass can create. I was really obsessed with creating fictional climates a couple years back. Opening the link gives me alot of nostalgia.

All the climate boxes I posted in past years are now gone from the image hosting server, so I recreated these from memory as closely as possible. 2014 - The height of my cold hating, as well as my obsession with summer convective rain. So the result was like an รผber-monsoonal version of northern Florida: 2015 - Decided a little bit of winter was okay, but kept the same overall concept: 2016 - When I really started to favor excitement over comfort, and move away from mild subtropical winters. I changed it a few times, but it was generally something like this: 2017-2018 - Most likely prompted by our very warm winter in 2017, I had a cold lover phase. For a while I wanted an even more continental climate than Lexington: 2019 - Then this past winter I realized that was going overboard, and settled on the current version:

I don't have the weatherbox on hand right now, but years ago when I first started browsing CD I originally wanted a subtropical climate with long hot humid summers and short mild winters. Today it would be more cooler year round, with something closer to a real winter and somewhat milder and less humid summers... more of a proper four-seasons climate.

I don't have all my dream climates archived, but I have some. This appears to be my first dream climate. It is from June 2014. Context: This was after two winters in Ohio and falling in love with snow. I didn't care much about summer at all, other than not liking humidity, so I just sort of threw in temperatures arbitrarily. I seem to at some point remember having a dream climate with something like 85F average highs in July and 15F in January, but I can't find it. This is the next one I can find. This seems to be from September 2016. This is after moving to KC and suffering through two hot, humid summers. I began to realize that I wasn't a cold lover, I was a heat hater and snow lover. I also realized that my snow-water ratios and precipitation pattern made no sense, so I fixed those. Ignore the sun, I seem to have forgotten the whole "days are longer in summer" thing. I promise I don't want July to be like Tรณrshavn. This is the next one. It is from March 2017. 14 of the 18 months since moving back to KC had been above average, and 2 of the 4 below-average months were less than 1F below average (July and August 2016, 0.8F and 0.6F below average respectively, and only in highs - the lows were still hot. The two that were substantially below average were May 2016, which was actually cool, and December 2016, which was mostly warm with a single powerful arctic outbreak in the middle of the month dropping the averages). This was my reaction to that: I cooled the summers further, made the winter diurnal ranges a bit more naturalistic, and moderated the records a lot. I also changed the precipitation and snow a bit to be more naturalistic. Again, ignore the sun. Most recent: This is from June 2019. The only differences are in precipitation and sun. I've made it slightly drier once again, as well as switching the sun from hours to percent so I don't have to do math to get actual proper sun statistics in. These should be accurate.

I like reading these posts and seeing the history behind changes in climate. I have only made one dream climate and haven't changed it since so I don't have much to add. Even before I cared about weather I liked cool days more than warm ones. My climate is a colder version of my real-world climate. Fall and winter were cooled the most so there is less lag, but every month is colder. Spring is drier so the mud season isn't as muddy, and diurnal range is a bit higher. Record highs in winter are much lower, records in general are lower, but summer record lows are about the same since I don't want frosty summers. Winter rain is almost non-existent, so snow totals are much higher even though winter isn't wetter than before.
Closest real-world climate is north-central USA ( Ashland) or parts of Russia ( Kazan) If I had to change it, I feel like there was just a thread about this. I might make summer drier for lower humidity and winter a bit warmer. I want constant snow cover in winter with variable temperatures, so it can't get too warm or thaws would be common. I like some rain and storms, not flooding, but not drought and brown plants either, since most plants would be dormant most of the year already.
The spring warm up and fall cool down isn't realistic, there is a big gap between March/April and October/November/December, but I don't need it to be realistic.

Will post my evolution now! My first one was like Vancouver or Brussels or something along those lines, I absolutely detested summer heat from really bad experiences of heatwaves in 2011/2012 without ac, still wanted a shot at snow but wanted reasonable transitions, felt some summers before were okay but suspected these were unexpectedly cool and normal summers would always be bad Gradually I became okay with a bit more summer heat since I wanted transitions in the 70s (fall), so incresed the summers to Paris level oo so, was slightly okay with a hot day or 2 but not really en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympia,_Washington#Geography_and_climate was also an inspiritiAtion since it seemed somewhat fun with the strange summer frosts will still being mild ng J <iframe width="23.279999999999973" height="11.940000000000055" style="position: absolute; width: 23.28px; height: 11.94px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 4px; top: 98px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_55664846" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="23.279999999999973" height="11.940000000000055" style="position: absolute; width: 23.28px; height: 11.94px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1095px; top: 98px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_35708624" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="23.279999999999973" height="11.940000000000055" style="position: absolute; width: 23.28px; height: 11.94px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 4px; top: 633px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_6435188" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="23.279999999999973" height="11.940000000000055" style="position: absolute; width: 23.28px; height: 11.94px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1095px; top: 633px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_95714601" scrolling="no"></iframe> [/quote]

I don't have old versions of my climate unfortunately, but the summers have changed from 18/31 to 16/34 or thereabouts. Winters have remained roughly similar.

This was my first Wiki-style dream climate from 2013. Surprisingly similar to my current one... though in between I had phases when I preferred more oceanic or even subtropical climates.

This was also when I first added a winter cloudy season. The next version stayed the same except added more snow in winterโa consistent trend over the years. This was at the end of 2017. My next update at the end of 2018 had similar minor changesโa bit more snow and clouds. This was the coldest winter version and actually had sub-40 average highs in December. Mid 2019 I added more snow and made it cloudier yet again. Also shifted some precipitation from fall to spring. Still had the same colder winters. At the end of 2019 I dramatically increased snowfall and made the current pattern of lots of snow on not many days as I got much more interested in heavy falls. I also made it a bit warmer. This is the hottest summer version. This was also the driest summer version. In late 2020, after moving to Fort Collins, I realized I liked the milder winters but with more extreme cold snaps. I also added a bit more snow. The biggest change was I doubled the summer precipitation here. And now for the current version with cooler, stormier summers.
