Grytviken is a whaling station on the South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands at 54° S in the middle of the Southern Ocean. This is what a proper 54th parallel maritime climate is supposed to look like, not Britain or the mild shithole that is Northern Ireland. As you can see, Grytviken has cooler summers and winters than anywhere in the United kingdom, save for perhaps Ben Nevis. I'd love to see the look on a certain Irish bastard's face when he sees this! Snowfall is very heavy and commonly occurs on all 12 months of the year; it is an ET tundra climate. South Georgia's annual windspeed is turbulent enough to make even Lerwick appear calm, owing to the furious fifties. This one gets an A+ from me because of its constant gales and year-round snowfall; summer snowfall is always exciting. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Georgia_and_the_South_Sandwich_Islands

F.
The record highs for Grytviken have to be BS, no way in hell that small subarctic island gets highs in the mid-high 20's in summer and mid teens in winter.

Z. Cold snowy* shit year round. South Georgia recieves most of its precipitation in the form of snow or sleet, not rain. Recieves more snowfall than anywhere in New York.

Much too little variation in temps throughout the year in both climates, though I bet the snowstorms are quite interesting. I'll give it an E- for snow.

F. Too cold year round. If summers were warm enough to grow trees, it would get an E.
