I moved there because someone called me for a work oportunity there. I had no GF so no reason to stay here and the Riviera is a pretty darn nice place, so I went for it. At first I was homesick and wanted to move back, but after a while (well, 2 years!) I began to feel at home. The main downside was the impressive amount of twats at work. One got suddenly sacked, but there were still too many of them and I had had enough of my job there. When another someone called me for a work opportunity back home I jumped on the occasion. I'm Parisian after all. As for which one I prefer, I tend to see the positives wherever I am, but in the end the best place for you is where the persons that count for you are (sounds cheesy I know). |

Meh, I don't know. I've lived 7 years in Turku and still everytime I jump off the train in Helsinki I feel that I'm "home". When I jump off the train back in Turku I feel I'm in "Turku".

Meh, I don't know. I've lived 7 years in Turku and still everytime I jump off the train in Helsinki I feel that I'm "home". When I jump off the train back in Turku I feel I'm in "Turku". Wouldn't you rather live at "home"? |

Of course, but as my rent is €432 here for my 32m2 studio, it's a good €200 higher in Helsinki.

Good point. When I was down south I lived in Antibes in a leafy hood but within walking distance from everything, so not exactly a cheap location for French Riviera standards but rents were similar to those of an absolutely shitty Parisian suburb. A studio in a decent area over here costs about €400 more than there. Lommaren I don't think I'm going to wait until summer to say hi to the folks down there. |
