(Fahrenheit, because the weather station reports in Fahrenheit and I am not going to convert 436 temperatures).
Through 31 July
Max
subzero: 0 single digit: 2 (January: 2) 10-19: 3 (January: 2, February: 1) 20-29: 8 (January: 5, February: 3) Total ice days (32 or lower): 18* (January: 11, February: 6, March: 0, April: 1**) 30-39: 19 (January: 8, February: 9, March: 0***, April: 4) 40-49: 22 (January: 3, February: 3, March: 11, April: 5) 50-59: 36 (January: 9, February: 8, March: 14, April: 5) 60-69: 18 (January: 2, February: 3, March: 5, April: 8) 70-79: 15 (January: 0, February: 1, March: 1, April: 4, May: 5, June: 3, July: 1) 80-89: 52 (January: 0, February: 0, March: 0, April: 4, May: 20, June: 12, July: 16) 90-99: 37 (January: 0, February: 0, March: 0, April: 0, May: 6, June: 15, July: 13) 100+: 1 (July: 1)
*Not entirely accurate, as there were MANY days with maximums of 33-35F that were probably below freezing in other parts of the area. The weather station is the coldest part of the city on average, but that doesn't mean it always is. **Latest ice day on record on 15 April 2018, and only the 7th April ice day ever recorded. (others: 1891, 1920, 1926, 1936, 1973, 1975) Also see the other footnote: 1 April had a maximum of 33F recorded at midnight, and the temperature was below freezing long before sunrise and remained so until the afternoon of the 2nd. A perfect example of misleading statistics, and if the temperature had dropped just a tiny bit faster that night, this would have been the only April with two ice days. ***It should be noted here that March 2018 was an incredibly dull month. No maximums below 40F, and only one above 70F, which was 76F on the 15th. The lowest temperature the entire month was just 19F. Even April got colder. March was almost completely flat 50/35 and sunny with occasional passing clouds.
Min
subzero: 6 (January: 5, February: 1) single digit: 6 (January: 3, February: 3) 10-19: 20 (January: 8, February: 9, March: 1, April: 2) 20-29: 28 (January: 6, February: 8, March: 5, April: 9) 30-39: 39 (January: 8, February: 6, March: 19*, April: 7) 40-49: 16 (January: 1, February: 1, March: 6, April: 8) 50-59: 17 (January: 0, February: 0, March: 0, April: 4, May: 10, June: 2, July: 1) 60-69: 55 (January: 0, February: 0, March: 0, April: 0, May: 20**, June: 17, July: 18) 70-79: 24 (January: 0, February: 0, March: 0, April: 0, May: 1, June: 11, July: 12)
*A further illustration of March 2018's dullness. **As can be seen here, May 2018 was also consistent - but at least it was far above average, which, while unpleasant, does make it interesting.
Notes:
Highest maximum: 100F (12 July) Highest minimum: 77F (29 June) Lowest maximum: 8F (16 January) Lowest minimum: -11F (1 January) Longest streak of ice days: 6 days, 1-6 January (actually 15 days, 23 Dec 2017 - 6 Jan 2018) Longest streak of "tropical nights" (days that do not drop below 20C/68F): 11 days, 9-19 June and 10-20 July (longest streak of nights above 70F: 6 days, 13-18 June)
