Two climates many would feel to be bad news! But which one wins out? For me Eureka is the winner (D+ vs E+). Emo has gorgeous summers but -22°C avg lows in winter is unnegotiable. It could perhaps beat Bothnia region (Umeå, Luleå, Oulu) but no chance against reliable mildness and unpredictable winter spikes towards 25°C over a full year. By the way, Emo's sunshine will probably be around equal for Eureka's under adjusted non-US methods.   |

Eureka. Can still get hot days year round, is comfortable, sunnier and the only thing missing that a weather creamer might like is snow, which is an irritating impediment lacing the streets with slippery garbage.

In my choice it's still only by a tiny amount.
Eureka would get a E+ but Ontario is E-/F.

It's got extremely interesting microclimates though so for a weather enthusiast that region in NW California is eldorado. Well I guess if it's repeated enough times, then it becomes the truth |

Eureka is the most boring climate imaginable. Emo is a B- climate. It isn't A because it looks too cold during the winter.

Emo has nice summers from may-sept, but nov-march are awful.
Eureka is basically an eternal September, so Eureka it is.
