Looks like we have quite the battle here. I never thought Portlaand vs Honolulu would be so close. Portland would currently win on a tiebreaker due to more votes in the primary round - but yeah. It'd be a pretty big shock, especially with LA likely losing and that's a more popular climate in general than Honolulu.

Honolulu averages a dewpoint of 17-21°C. Not dry, but not high enough to make 30°C feel anywhere close to a dry 41°C Exactly. When it's hot in Portland there's either a hot furnace wind blowing or there's no wind at all. Either way it bakes... Honolulu has access to oceanic air breeze. Except Portland doesn't bake often; averages about 1 day / year of 100°F + temperatures; 4 days / year of 95°F or 35°C + temperatures. On average, you'd get a week at most of days in Portland that'd be more uncomfortable than Honolulu heat-wise. www.city-data.com/forum/35584066-post1394.html
