The final is here!
Colorado go head-on against North Carolina for having the best climate of the state's largest urban areas! Since it's the final, any tiebreaker advantage is gone. This will simply be decided one way or the other.
Here's my motivation for voting for Charlotte:
This one was a very tough one for me. Denver has a better summer and Charlotte has a better winter. Ultimately the shoulder seasons had to decide and that favoured the better winter climate at a lower elevation. In addition, Denver's moderate overnight lows in summer won't help all that much since sunsets are still too early on that latitude. That same 31/15 day here in Nyköping (which can happen, but more likely inland) would be way preferable to one in Denver because of the less intense UV and the later sunsets to enjoy the temp being within its ideal range. Denver is also elevated, which makes the UV even worse along with quite a sizeable wildfire risk in summer.
Charlotte's summers would feel like a farce to me due to the humid days and hot nights with a bunch of thunderstorms that I don't really like, but April, May, September and October are beautiful months. March and November are very good autumn months, while a few of the other months would feel within my comfort range albeit far from perfect. It's only really July and August I'd despise.
Charlotte on the other hand slam-dunks winters. Weak frosts but enough to clear allergens and a general feel in terms of sun strength and temps as April here. Variable enough for me. Denver has colder winter nights than even Hudiksvall (61°N in Sweden), let alone here, and although the higher UV from the elevation would be a strength during winter, it's still not warm enough for the place to really reap the benefits thereof.
So end evaluation says Charlotte C and Denver C-
