We were talking about some classic rock bands on the shoutbox yesterday. Curious which songs of them I play the most, and if my most played match what's considered their best songs. Went to my iTunes and sorted them by # of Plays. No, not showing the Play Count, as it's embarrassingly high. Led Zeppelin I really liked playing the IV album over and over again, didn't get into their later albums as much. Kashmir deserves a much higher rank. The dates are from the "Date Added" column to my music collection, mainly via copying off of friend's collection, or piracy. Beatles I clearly like their later stuff more, though why'd Sexy Sadie get to #1 ? Think I made a playlist with a lot of songs from "Let It Be" and the "White Album". Across the Universe is one of my favorite Beatles songs. Yer Blues isn't that memorable; probably just there cause it's in between other songs I like in the album or playlist. Good choices for best Beatles songs, though not the order. and 2 of my favorite 90s musicians. Well, Beck still making music, but most of his best stuff is from the 90s. I must like the melody of Tropicalia, or just thought it sounded witty? Think I've overplayed "Mutherfucker" a bit much, and such gems as "MTV makes me want to smoke crack" and "Satan gave me a taco" are missing At least for the Smashing Pumpkins, the rank seems close to what a best of might be

I don't check my iTunes stats all that often. Maybe I should. Still those stats date back to like 2008 so some songs would be very unrepresented the last few years in most likelihood

I don't use iTunes or Spotify, so I might try to get into my old Last FM account to see what I was listening to 7/8 years ago.

Not sure about the Beatles, but Kashmir, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, and Immigrant Song would be higher up in my LZ playlist, but good songs are generally are high up on your list.

A couple of my co-workers put a Led Zepplin CD in the work truck we drove around. They played this song over and over again. Think they did it on purpose because I was like can we please listen to something else for a change? Looking back on it it was pretty funny though.

Does my Beatles and Led Zepplin song order look like their better songs are near the top of the list ? The The Beatles songs are all from their better albums, but there seems to be more songs from the second disc of white album, which IMO is a bit weaker than the first. Their best songs will always be subjective and there are so many great songs that even a random list of songs would contain many favorites. My favorites are Tomorrow never knows, Revolution, Taxman, For the benefit of Mr kite, blackbird, mother nature son, Strawberry fields, Back in the ussr, I want you, You never give me your money, A day I the life, In my life

Didn't look closely when you first posted, a bit unusual since there's a lot of lesser-known tracks, but not too weird for people to prefer their later stuff. Surprised by how much of White Album's part 2 is on there, since I think it was a lot weaker than the first half, should have been a single album IMO. Also surprised to see Maxwell's Silver Hammer so high since it gets a lot of hate. Only 2 Revolver songs, I think that's their best album. Good to See I'm Only Sleeping, You Never Give Me Your Money, Baby You're A Rich Man and Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey, since I think they're underrated. I'm Only Sleeping is probably my third favourite Lennon song, after In My Life and Strawberry Fields Forever.
