Didn't they evolve on the highlands above 1000m? Isn't Pretoria supposed to be the birthplace of humankind? Seems it would make more sense for humans to evolve around the eastern part of Africa like Kenya, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe etc. Instead of the lower altitude rainforests like Congo.

Judging by indoor temperature, probably everything between San Diego and Santa Barbara on the immediate coastline.
Ponta Delgada, Funchal, Sagres, Tarifa, the East African highlands, coastal South Australia and New Zealand from Hastings/Tauranga and up et cetera are other good shouts.

Well early humans didn't have clothes and houses and central heating etc... those are all things that have come about as people have started to live in higher latitudes. I believe humans were originally evolved to live in tropical climates, from a biological standpoint.

Humans are naturally adapted for warm/hot climates, we evolved in eastern Africa, so naturally we're suited to similar climates. I'd say island climates such as those found in the Caribbean and Canary Islands are pretty ideal for human survival, in a primitive sense.

Most of the med would be far too cold for unclothed humans in winter. Haven't we evolved to be bared-skinned with the invention of clothing though? The original humans that almost looked like chimps, surely would've had a great chance to thrive in say Valencia or perhaps even Rome during winter. |
