Through March 10, so there might be another one still to come. Counting a high of 32F as an ice day. Madison, Wisconsin: 55 (N 2 D 18 J 19 F 14 M 2) Milwaukee, Wisconsin: 42 (N 1 D 14 J 15 F 11 M 1) Me: 52 (N 3 D 15 J 19 F 13 M 2) Madison -- 55 (normal 59.5) Milwaukee -- 42 (normal 51.8) Me--53 (normal 54.8) Ice days in April are rare, and the forecast isn't showing any are likely. So this is the final total for 2017-2018.

Kansas City has, as far as I know, only ever recorded six ice days in April*. The last was 2 April 1975, on which the maximum was 30F. The forecast high for 1 April is 38F and has been slowly dropping day by day. Could it happen?!
* 03 Apr 1891 04 Apr 1920 01 Apr 1926 02 Apr 1936 09 Apr 1973 02 Apr 1975

The sun is so strong that time of the year. When was the last time it went down below 40 in April? Must happen fairly frequently in the beginning of the month, surely?

The only other time since 2000 was 8 April 2003, also 39F. Last snow in April was 0.1 inches on the 14th in 2014 (I wasn't here, but I received 1.5 inches in Ohio the following day), and before that a trace (light shower, I remember it clearly) on the morning of the 12th in 2008.

While I've never experienced an April ice day as far as I'm aware; don't think Norrtälje had one during the 90's but I'm fairly sure Örebro had a 4°C high on 1 May 2015. That was a shocker. Might have just hit 40°F sometime during that day though. It was 4°C and November-like rain during the afternoon though. That May would've been a good fit for Sariberia; 14/5 averages in Örebro

Speaking of remarkably cool May highs, we had a 9°C high on May 24, 2013. I also remember a 7°C high on May 11, 2010.

We had 3 ice days in April 2016. About 1 in 2.5 Aprils sees an ice day.
March 27 is our average last ice day with the latest on record being April 25, 1919.
I’d guess we’re done by now but next week has several forecast highs in the upper 30s and it’s been a very cold spring so there could be another 1-2.

Madison -- 55 (normal 59.5) Milwaukee -- 42 (normal 51.8) Me--53 (normal 54.8) Ice days in April are rare, and the forecast isn't showing any are likely. So this is the final total for 2017-2018. Madison had two ice days and seven more with a high below 2C, the lowest was 29F/-2C on the 15th. The latest ice day on record is April 23rd, and the forecast isn't showing any chance for one, so this is actually the final total. Madison -- 57 Milwaukee-42, lowest high 34F/1C Me--55, lowest high 32F/0C

It was Kansas City's latest ice day on record, breaking the record set by April 9, 1973. The high was 31F, which broke the previous lowest high of 41F by 10 degrees. Yes, 10. That's like suddenly getting 105F in April (record high here is 95F), to show how crazy that is. Then the record low minimum was broken the following morning, it was 26F I think or maybe even lower.

Dec: 3 Jan: 10 Feb: 1
14 days, 11 of which occured during a severe arctic outbreak in late Dec to early Jan, we spent 10 days consecutive days below freezing. No ice days in November or March, thankfully.
My first ice day was December 28th, with a max of 29.2F (-1.5C).
My last ice day was on February 3rd with a max of 30.5F (-0.8C) at 11:58 PM, if it warmed a little quicker February would’ve had no ice days.
My coldest ice day was January 5th, with a max of 12.3F (-10.9F), and a min of 1.5F (-16.9C), absolutely abysmal, likely the coldest day I’ve ever experienced.
